I know you're thinking, Monique, what in the world is Cozy Cardio? Can I do it from my bed?
If that's a yes, sign me up.

So, what exactly is "cozy cardio"?
Forget grueling, intense workout sessions. Cozy cardio is all about creating a warm, welcoming vibe while moving your body. Think low-impact exercises that are gentle on your joints but incredibly effective for your heart and overall health.
Cozy cardio lets you feel strong and accomplished without the dreaded post-workout soreness. It's about enjoying the process, not just the results.
Here are some fun, cozy cardio exercises you can try:
1. Walking with Intention or Mindful Walking:
As you know, I'm a huge advocate for walking. It's one of the most underrated forms of exercise, whether it's a leisurely stroll through your neighborhood or a power walk around your living room while listening to your favorite podcast. I have even seen a people taking color walks where your walking and notice the color you picked. Exp. Your color is green. You will “be mindful” and look for everything green you can while you are on your walk. It’s fun and a great way to walk with purpose.
2. Chair Fitness “Seated Exercises”:
As I shared with many of you, I'm currently diving deep into the world of Chair Yoga and getting my certification, and let me tell you, it's everything. Pull up a chair, turn on some music, and move! Chair fitness can be anything from seated yoga poses to low-impact dance moves. It's perfect for those with limited mobility or simply looking for a gentler approach to exercise. There is no shame in my chair fitness game, and I wish I had realized that a long time ago. Sometimes, our bodies need the rest, but we still want to move.
3. Strength Training with Light Weights:
Last year, I discovered Barre Fitness, which completely transformed my fitness routine. Strength training doesn't always require heavy weights. In fact, using light dumbbells (3-5 pounds) can be incredibly effective. Try bicep curls, shoulder presses, and squats to build strength, improve your metabolism, and enhance bone health. Let me pause and say if you like to lift heavy go for it, however there are always alternatives that are effective. Light Weight Training is perfect for those who are beginners to strength training and even for the workout queen who is focused on improving specific muscle groups.
4. Dance it Out:
If you've been to one of my classes, you know that dancing is where the magic happens! Dance Fitness is how this company started and the thing that honestly turned me on to fitness. Dancing is the ultimate cozy cardio workout. It's all about fun, freedom, and moving your body in a way that feels good. Dancing for 30 minutes can also burn up to 300 calories, depending on how full out you go. Put on your favorite playlist and let loose! You'll be smiling and sweating in no time. * Are you subscribed to our YouTube Channel? Every Saturday at 8:00 am EST, I teach 30 minutes of dance fitness. Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss a workout.
How Often Should You Do Cozy Cardio?
Start with 30 minutes of cozy cardio two days a week. As you build stamina, gradually increase to 4-5 days. Combine your cardio sessions with two days of strength training for optimal results.
The Bottom Line:
Cozy cardio is about listening to your body and enjoying the journey. It's not about punishment but about self-love and showing up for yourself every single day.
