Four ways to overcome fall blues….

We know it’s coming… Fall!

It’s time to put away the shorts and flip flops and break out the boots and long pants.

For so many people, including myself, I start to get down and depressed around this time of the year.

I really want this fall to be different, so here are three easy things that I’m going to incorporate into my life over the next three months.

  1. Drink more water. I know I know everyone says that, but in the cooler months, you need the extra hydration. I’m shooting for 64oz a day. This will be a mix of plain water and water with hydration sticks. I also like to mix my water with sugar-free Gatorade for flavor.

  1. Go on a morning prayer walk. I use this time to thank God for the day and cast my cares and burdens. I cry and sometimes yell, and that‘s ok. It’s my time at peace.

  1. Be kind to yourself! I’ve gotten in this habit of writing down one good thing about myself. I do this when I get to work on a post-it note and stick it on my computer. It’s a simple reminder to myself that “I AM SMART” and that ”I BELONG HERE.”

  1. I listen to upbeat music! Now honey, if you don’t know The Thick Chixx, listen to all types of music, so follow us on Itunes and listen to our playlist. I have it in my ear at work and in the car.

  1. Be active. I know getting cold and dark outside; you don’t want to go to a fitness class. COME TO CLASS!!!!!!! This is the best thing that gets me in a great mood, especially a Thick Chixx class. Find our class schedule online at www.thethickchixx.com.

Let me know what you do to overcome the fall blues.
